30-year Treasury yield hits highest level since 2004
The 30-year Treasury bond yield was up 6 basis points at 5.462% and reached a 2004 peak. The benchmark 10-year Treasury note yield, which is tied to rates on mortgages, rose more than 5 basis points to 5.166% and hit its highest level since July 2007. The yield on the 2-year note rose slightly to 4.897% and remained close to a 2023 high. Read on »

In August, investors poured $18 billion into gold-backed exchange-traded funds. That was the second-largest monthly inflow in the history of gold ETFs.
