Silver Prices Notch a Fresh Record
Silver prices shot up 5.4% today, closing at a new record high of $53.332 a troy ounce. That exceeds the all-time high reached last month, which broke a 45-year-old price record. Silver futures have gained more than 11% so far this week on two of its biggest daily gains of 2025. Gold’s third-quarter scorecard shows a tale of two markets. Overall U.S. demand leapt 58% year-over-year to 186 metric tons, the largest Q3 tonnage in more than a decade. Yet traditional consumer demand—jewellery plus bar & coin—actually shrank by a third to just 32 t.
